The Mini Rex

  • The Mini Rex is a domesticated breed of rabbit that is known for the velvety, plush like fur. They were first created in 1984 in Florida by the late Monna Berryhill of Texas.

  • They were recognized by ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association) in 1988
​
  • They can live up to 10 years of age
​
  • They are fully grown approximately by 6 months of age
​
  • Senior weight should be from 3.5 to 4.5 lbs. The body should be short and coupled when posed.

  • Mini Rex fur stands upwards while the guard hairs and undercoat are the same length giving it it's plush like texture. You'll never feel anything softer.

  • ​Mini Rex are considered a friendly breed and good for children and/or first time rabbit owners.
​
  • Current recognized varieties by ARBA include Black, Blue, Blue-Eyed(BEW) White, Broken, Castor, Chinchilla, Chocolate, Himalayan, Lilac, Lynx, Opal, Otter, Red, Sable Point, Seal, Silver Marten, Smoke Pearl, Tortoise and Ruby-Eyed White.(REW)
